STAGFIRE services
What we do in the field
Everything STAGFIRE offers falls into six clear lines of work, all built on the same standard: gear we trust, trips we would book for ourselves and training that happens in the dirt. Here is exactly what you can expect from each service, and how a typical project or trip comes together from first call to full campsite.
01
Camping and Trail Gear
We stock a tight, carefully chosen range of camping and trail gear for the high desert and the mountain west. Tents, tarps, sleeping bags, pads, packs, trekking poles and trail footwear all come from makers we have used for years, and every item is field tested before it reaches the floor. Our fitting process takes time, because a good fit matters more than a good price, and a pack that rides wrong will ruin a perfect view. We measure, we adjust, we load your kit and we send you home with gear that works for your body and your season. Every purchase includes a care walkthrough so you know how to keep your equipment alive for many seasons of hard use.
02
Fire and Cooking Equipment
Fire is the heart of this company, so we treat fire equipment with unusual care. We carry cast iron cookware, camp stoves, grills, fire tools, lanterns and fuel systems that are tested for cold, wind and heavy use before we offer them to you. Our team can teach you to build a safe fire ring, read the wind, and cook a full meal over coals in any weather, from a quick dutch oven dinner to a slow overnight stew. We also stock replacement parts for the most common field failures, because a small fix should never end a trip. If you are looking to rebuild your camp kitchen from scratch, we will plan the whole setup with you around your cooking style.
03
Guided Outdoor Trips
Our guides run small-group trips across the Uinta Basin and the nearby high country, from a single overnight to multi-day pack trips. Each route is scouted, each camp is chosen for water, shelter and a good view, and each itinerary is built around the people who are actually going. We carry the heavy gear, handle the permits and manage the schedule, so you can focus on the country instead of the logistics. Every trip includes a full safety briefing, a written communication plan and a guide who has spent real seasons in the backcountry. We keep groups small, we move at a pace that fits the group, and we leave every camp cleaner than we found it.
04
Ranch and Field Services
STAGFIRE also serves the working side of the outdoors. We support ranches and field crews with fence repair tools, water systems, stock handling gear and field equipment that holds up to daily use rather than weekend use. Our team can come to the property to inspect gear, plan improvements and train crews on safe field practice before the busy season arrives. We understand that ranch time is valuable, so we keep common parts on hand and answer the phone when a repair cannot wait until Monday. Whether you need a full tool inventory for a crew or a single replacement part for a water pump, we treat working gear with the same care as our best tent.
05
Outdoor Safety and Training
Preparation is the difference between a good story and a bad one, so we run practical courses in fire safety, navigation, first aid and camp craft. Our training is hands-on: you practice fire rings, compass bearings, shelter setup and emergency response in real conditions, not in a classroom. We teach map and compass before we teach electronics, because batteries fail and a folded map does not. We also cover the leave no trace habits that keep our public lands open for everyone, and we test participants with a short field exercise at the end. Private sessions are available for families, ranch crews and small teams who need training around their own schedule.
06
Custom Equipment Builds
Sometimes the right gear does not exist on a shelf, so we build it. Our workshop handles custom equipment, from specialized pack frames and camp furniture to tool mounts and fire gear designed for field use. We work with you on the design, build a prototype, test it in the exact conditions you will face, and refine it until it is right. You will know exactly what materials are used and why, because we believe honest work should be transparent work. Custom builds are the most personal part of our shop, and they often become the favorite piece in a camp or the most reliable tool in a work truck. We will give you a firm quote before any work begins, with no surprises at the end.
